Default How to SEO Your Website for Bing, Microsoft's Latest Search Engine

Some of you may not have heard, so let's start from the very basics. Bing is Microsoft's newest search engine. Bing has been labeled as a Decision Engine, alleging that the results will be more relevant them search engines. Many of us have been very unsure about the criteria that Bing looks at for ranking sites. While there is much to learn still here are some basic tips for potentially ranking higher with Bing. Additionally I feel that these tips are good general SEO practice and should be put in place and utilized if not already currently being utilized. The potential exists to rank better on multiple engines not just Bing!

    Step 1
    Site Title:
One of the most important factors which potentially will decide the rank of your page on Bing is the Keywords that are in the Title Tags. Essentially the site title. The closer the word is to the beginning of the title, the more impact this seems to have. Many marketers are now putting the company name after their primary keyword phrase. In order to rank well in Bing you should use your primary keyword phrase in the title tag of your website. Utilization of a long tail keyword could offer an even better impact, and help visitors find your site more readily.

    Step 2
    Domain Keywords:
Bing appears to also look for any keywords in the Domain Name. From what we are seeing right now, having strong keywords or phrases in your domain name URL will provide that often sought after advantage. For example a website with the URL of www pataskalawebhosting com , would potentially rank much higher in the city of Pataskala Ohio, versus web hosting companies of another domain name. Notice how in this domain multiple keywords are effectively used. Pataskala,Web Hosting and Pataskala Web Hosting are three highly focused keywords, and now this site could rank much higher in searches related to these terms. Now If you do not have keywords or phrases in domain name, you might consider registering a targeted domain name to have a nice landing page. Otherwise if you properly create a keyword rich title this will help your cause as well, even if the domain name is not keyword rich.

    Step 3
    Content Is King:
It does not really matter whether it is Google or Bing or any other search engine,'Content is King' has been SEO Marketer's Mantra. You need to write lots of original content on your website in order to get favor from Bing search engine and other search engines. Make sure your landing pages stay relevant to the topic. Focused, good quality content will always help your site get found. Additionally the visitors to your site will appreciate great content and be more likely to utilize your site and or services.

    Step 4
    Bing's Unique Linking System:
We know that Google tends to favor inbound links, as these make a site look more talked about, important, and potentially much more relevant, but Bing seems to do just the opposite, Bing appears to favor Linking to outside sites with relevant content (Outbound Links). This means properly SEO'ing a site for Bing should focus on building a strong network of sites, all linked together with inbound and outbound links. So link to other useful web pages you find may become a useful resource for your visitors and make your site acheive better rankings. Putting outbound links pointing to other similar interesting stuff on web is good for your Bing rankings.Back linking on the web tends to be something you can't do without. Having good, relevant, popular and well ranked, legitimate backlinks will influence your rankings in Bing search engine as well. Having many back links or inbound links has always been a solid cornerstone SEO practice but all the other factors listed above are very important to Bing as well.

    Step 5
    Dynamic, but not Flashy:

    Step 6
You've now properly done the ground work for achieving better SEO Results on Bing. Keep on these steps, always test and analyze to acheive the best results.

I have never tried the recommendation on step 4, it sound like it could be relevant, but we have to be very careful when creating outbound links because there is nothing that SE robots hates more is a website that links back to bad neighborhoods or penalized sites. So if You give it a try keep track of your outbound links and their status on the SE

Information useful, I also consider the development of many trieng Bing, with separate opinion: These pages create a yahoo account is worth high, to be found more than Bing, its scope is probably smaller , More detailed, but it is not optimized as much as G.

Interesting theory about Bing and outbound links... but I dont over optimise for any specific engine. Instead, I try and build a useful site for visitors, then get links to it. Most engines like that.

If Bing favors outbound links then it's easy to optimize for this search engine since you control your website and you can simply put relevant links on your blogroll right?
