i cannot say which is the best search engine and which is the best messenger, based on my daily activity on searching, i always use google, i don't know why, may be because so familiar with me and for messenger, i always use yahoo messenger, it's simple for me ,n almost my friends are use yahoo messenger too.

I use Google because it gives good results and also Bing for its quality searches, though little in number. But i didn't ever use Yahoo.

Google for now is the prime search engine due to functionality and every webmasters are looking to meet the standard of Google.

Yahoo is also very important search engine Yahoo provides better transparency in terms of backlink checking (site explorer) while Google hide this and the very popular YM.

When it comes to search engine Google wins but for messenger I go for Yahoo.

Google will get you a lot of traffic but the ROI is lower than if you use Google or MSN. This is in terms of using their advertising networks.
But as far as search engine results, Google will give you the most as long as you're ranked highly.

There are no doubt that Google is very good. But we can not ignore Bing it have also a good data base of information. and These day Bing Improve it self.
