Partition Action In Minnesota
Hello Minnesota members. I am brand new to this forums, but I hope somebody can help. My mother died about a month and a half ago. She did a Quit Claim Deed leaving her single family home to both of my sisters and I. One of my sisters and I Want to sell, but our other sister is located on the other side of the US and I totally uncooperative on the telephone. I assume that means I need to get an attorney to start a Partition Action. Has anybody here had any experience with a Partition action that basically involved the court to order the sale of the property? This is a home that might be worth $40,000.00 at most in east central Minnesota. I might be inclined to just walk away from it. If I do that, how long until the county sells it as a tax delinquent property? Also, will that adversely affect my credit rating?
