    Default Unethical Real Estate agent?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Several years ago my father (78 years old) re-married. His new wife happens to be a Real Estate agent.
My father and I have been working out a small disagreement over a loan he gave my son (his grandson). My son has not been able to make his payments to his grandfather. My father thinks I should pay off my son's loan. I told him I don't have the funds right now.
His wife apparently dug into our mortgage history and "discovered" that my wife and I pulled some cash out of our house during a re-finance. My father is mad because he thinks we should have paid him off with some of the proceeds from the re-financing.
My father knew ALL the details of our re-financing. When I questioned where he got such detailed information, he simply replied that he did NOT find it in the public records.
I know my father's wife is eager to utilize her Real Estate license for such detective work. A few weeks ago she offered my sister some mortgage information on my sister's daughter (my niece).
Here's my question: Did my father's wife violate any legal or ethical standards by using her license and/or knowledge of Real Estate to gain specific detailed information on property that she is not involved with?

Please understand I'm not a lawyer and I might be wrong.
I don't think there is anything wrong on her part since there is no deal involved. She got the informations, most probably in the public records if any.
    Only my 2 cents here...

In general, even her doing is wrong, that is between here and the licensor(one that grant license).

My suggesttion is check with the licensor if her using of license is wrong or not.

Having a real estate license does not provide the holder access to private information so the information she obtained was from public records. Your refi was recorded at your county court house so anyone can go there and look up your mortgage history in the county. Ours is actually online making it even easier.

She did not break any codes of ethics or real estate license laws by looking at public records although she did expose herself as meddling and somewhat greedy.

Your father knew the risks when he made the loan to your son and unless you agreed to be the co-signer when the loan was made this is between him and your son. If you bail your son out of this mess be prepared to do it again some time in the future.

    Hi...............,
I complained to a real estate commission about an agent's unethical conduct once and the investigator for the commission attempted to steal my deal for her friend. When I wrote directly to the commission regarding the investigators conduct, I was ignored.
