    Default check authenticity

I am not certain that this is the correct site to ask my question.
I would like to know if I can find out, by using the web , I can fin out if a person bought real estate.
Can I log onto a county website?
I am trying to find out if an obnoxious person really bought some expensive property or is just being a bigmouth.
    Thank you.

    The short answer is: maybe.

If the County where the property is purchased is fairly large, they most likely have their property sales available online at the County Clerks Office.

(Here's one for Louisville as an example:

If they are a smaller community (or just behind the times technology-wise), then you can try calling, being super sugary sweet, and ask for one of the persons in the County Clerks Office to check for you. (Some offices can be well, lets just say "harsh" in how they deal with the public.)

Alternatively: you can contact a real estate person in the area, and see if they'd be willing to check for you.

If that doesn't work, you'll have to end up going to the office yourself to pull the info.
