Please Help
Hi Everybody
I am new to this community.I have ancestral land(a 1200 sq yard plot) in dera bassi,Punjab and have been trying to find out if the land is registered in my family's name. However I have been unable to do as the officials have refused to oblige and are demanding a bribe.
I have two maps of the plot and two building permits(latest one being 10 years old) of the same but do not have a registry. Is it possible for me to start construction on my own or do i need a fresh building permit.and can i sell it on the basis of the map as I doubt there will be a registry in the first place as it is rural ancestral land.
I have been running from pillar to pillar but to no avail.
Please help.
Thank you

Welcome to the forum it looks to me as though we could use a India version. I am sorry to hear of your predicament. Here in the U.S. building permits usually expire at some point and then one must reapply. I no nothing about the requirments of India. I will keep this bumped for you so that maybe someone from your area might find it.

there are definetely some legal issues here to adhere to. Most of individuals in this forum will not probably have any insight into Punjab Real Estate although I did run across someone in another forum who specializes in this area. You might check out site below, this could possibly point you in the right direction. There are many resources on this site including contact information for several india realtors that will have a better understanding of issue you are referring to above.
