Default Starting a new niche real estate website, no RE License

    Hey All,

I am starting a new niche listing service for lower priced homes, not really looking to make money from this, basically wanting my foot in the door while I start obtaining my real estate license.

Anyway, I was talking to a close realtor friend and they threw in that I might need my license to start such a service? I am not dealing with sales, no commision, just offering a free service for other realtors. Do I need a license?

Thanks in advance, this forum is full of very helpful people!

My understanding is that you do not as long as you do not arrange any transactions or try to earn a referal fee. Many web entities put up web pages that allow listings to be posted and they do not have license. Just to be safe ask your question in the law forum.
