Default Bought house for $4000 and later found out it owes $21,000 in taxes and trash pickup.

Bought it cash from bid4assets. No title search and title insurance. A few questions,
    1. Can I donate it and get ride of the back taxes?

    2. Can chapter 7 wipe it off even though the value of the house is WAY below what is owed. (a friend is going to file bankruptcy soon and is willing to take this title and include this mess in his bankruptcy if need be)

    3. Can the attorney be held responsible for not suggesting I do a title search? Or the website that listed it for not disclosing the lien?

    Help.

What's the problem? You saved a commission by not using a real estate agent.

You can sue anybody you want to. Whether you can win will depend on the laws of your state.

I don't think bankruptcy works on back taxes but you really need the advice of a good local lawyer.

    Good Luck!
