    Default Want to complete land contract

    [FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]My dad helped me buy the house I currently live in 10 years ago. He originally paid for most of it with an agreement between us in the form of a promissory note that I would pay him back in monthly payments until I paid for the entire house. The note also states that I would be responsible for paying for the insurance and property taxes, which I have done. My dad has given me signed receipts for each payment I made to him. The house is titled to both of us

    Hi Mintaka. Sorry to hear the fact. If you are able enough then hire an attorney to convince and transfer the property. Thus you can save half of it.

    I would think the price you paid for the home was much more than the relatively small costs of hiring an qualified real estate attorney. My advice is to bite the bullet and hire an attorney for legal advice.
