Default Where to find local code books and business laws?

I am starting my own business buying and selling homes, but I cannot find where my local codebook would be. I do not know if I am allowed to buy and sell these homes without being a business..

    Anyone?

I believe here in Minnesota if you buy and sell more than 4 homes in a year you are considered to be in the "business." Therefore, you would need to have your real estate license or have a realtor represent you. How you decide to buy the properties is up to you. As an LLC or as an individual. Fannie Mae is going back to allowing buyers purchase up to 10 properties under your own name which should help your cause if you qualify.

I was always wondering how come you need to have a license in order to sell or buy real estates. Here in Bulgaria i don't need one. If i'm aware of the things then i sell or buy and that's it. Point.

    HomeFLIPPER,

If your are in the USA, most of the Home Depot stores have something called Code Check. It's a quick flip booklet showing the building codes. If you need specific local codes that's tougher because every local jurisdiction has their own tweeks to every code. Usually you can get them at city or county halls and sometimes on the internet.
