    Default HOA Question

    Hello,

I recently bought a new home and on the contract it says that the HOA is $141 and my HOA is sending me bills for $280 a month. Can they legally up the rates like that?

Your contract was between you and the seller. The HOA had nothing to do with your contract. Was the amount on the contract correct?

HOAs typically have the ability to increase their fees to keep up with inflation. You need to read the HOA covenants to find out what their policy is.
