Default Question about building in USA :)

    Hello!

I hope someone smart browsing these threads might have some better insight than I do into this scenario I have painted below. I am basically trying to understand what my legal limits are, ... as far as building and expanding on a big house. I am trying to figure out what is and is not prohibited by the State (anywhere) going down a to build where State offers most non-disclosure privacy. These days with terrorism on the front page, I just want to live where I feel most safe my space is not published necessarily anywhere.... and I can build & live somewhere without much flux from the State.

Scenario: What are the general legal issues I need to consider, as far as State disclosure goes, for building a private residency in terms of square footage? Would I *always* need to declare upfront before construction starts -- the full and actual square footage (and more?) for tax and other purposes? Am I on the right track in my thinking here? What am I missing? That is what I am trying to basically understand ... and hoping someone in-the-know might be aware of more liberal places to build, where the most privacy is entrusted in the land owner.... And if this is even possible.

I am not so sure if maybe there are caps, or things of that nature for me to think about in some States for building. I don't want to run into any issues where I cannot build a dream house, or expand on one because of unforeseen builder issues.

Are there any threshold or limits in some States vs. others, or things I should think about before considering where I want to live? This is assuming money is not the issue. What is the best plan? Thank you so much for your time!!

This is not some joke post, I am really very serious and hope someone mature knows the inside and outs so I can advance my knowledge and make good decisions. Thank you!

    Best regards, Janis.
