Twitter and Facebook
I have been gathering a large Twitter following and extensive contacts with my Facebook account. Has anyone had much luck getting leads from Twitter and Facebook? What are your thoughts?
My best advice so far to gather a twitter following is to make sure to tweet on hard hitting topics with relevent links. Retweeting good posts from others that you find funny or interesting also helps.
Also, add a pretty picture that links to your twitter account in your email signature.

I think Facebook is useful for making people you already know, aware that your services are available in Real Estate.
I have had some old college friends become clients of mine this year because I posted a link on Facebook, and they read it and called me.
Twitter may be useful for finding new people you don't know. Although when compared to a regular blog where you get to say more than 120 characters, I think I'll spend my time updating the blog instead of Tweeting all day long.
Plus, I have been so busy with clients and showings and offers, I don't have the time to generate more business, let alone take on more business if it comes.
Guess it's time to hire an assistant to Tweet for me

social networking is just that networking... you do not need to spend all day doing any of it.... you need to be there - you need to have a transparent showing - no need to hit the hard sale.... I use it all... but in all honesty I look at more of what is happening with keywords for my area that anything else.

Luckily for most of us in this industry, making friends is something we are good at, and we enjoy doing it. I have been using social networking as another communication method to my clients. I have some clients that prefer to use text messaging, so I am happy to cater to them and use that form of communication. At the same time, I have several clients that dont text message at all, and would rather talk to me on the phone. Either communication style works for me, I just try to communicate to clients on whatever medium is most convenient for them.

SEO is turning their attention to Social Networking Sites, huh. I was listening to webmasters radio a while a go and I heard that it won't be long until content is not the king anymore. Facebook just proved that.

I still don't know what twitter is for...or how I can use it for business without spamming all over.
I have a twitter account and I follow ONE dude. I get about 12-14 links everyday...and "this is a deal - click here" here and "click to see this one" there...Pff....no better than my junk mail...
UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW...
