    Default Hello everyone

    Hello everyone,
I am a newbie in LA and looking for a Brokers office

I am hoping someone can tell their experiences and help me with the questions below.

What is the average cost for training?
(A nice established office gave me a fee of approx $3200, this is including uniform, REALTOR assoc. fee, and 2wks of training.)

What is the usual length of training?

What is a decent percentage split?
(I was quotes a 60% comm. to start with an adj scale)

    Monthly dues?
($75 a month, includes my own phone#, 100 copies per month)

I have received letters from many offices and rather than going to various interviews, I would like to hear agents experiences and office recommendations. I have come to realize the major companies (remax, century 21

When it comes to splits it depends on what you get in the office. You should have full access to all office equipment for no fee at a 60% split. At 70% you will start seeing brokerages charging a desk fee. One thing to remember you are going to pay out higher splits and more in fees to franchise offices. However, you will have less of a name behind you if you do not go with a franchise. It is only the rare occasion that you will see a large well know local brokerage with a good reputation. Yet, they do exist.

welcome to the forum. rather than focus on the franchise, i would look for a broker that you can relate to and feel will offer you the support and training that you are looking for. many offices offer free or heavily discounted training, so based in my experience $3200 would be a lot of money to spend.
