International Business Man

The title makes me sound more important than I really am but technically it is true and I hope it got your attention. My job is to find jobs and accommodations for european students coming to the USA, for the summer, through a work and travel cultural exchange program sponsored by the US State Department.

Our company has grown 300% in the last 3 years and our current staff can no longer handle the increase in workload. We have split the business in two. A company based in Europe (Romania) will recruit the students and my American based company will "place" them, as in find the jobs and a place to stay. So I am here trying to find real estate professionals to work with. The compensation is very generous and the work is fun and fulfilling. Please contact me if you are interested.

To have so many people together with real estate as the common interest makes this the most valuable website I have ever seen. I am sorry I have not participated in it earlier. I look forward to making connections with people here, I cannot think of a better place to do it.

I am also new to this forum and looking forward to learning more about real estate.

What an interesting thing to be doing. We always had exchange students thru our church when I was a kid and they came to different families homes for the school year. It was great to learn about where they came from and showing them how we live in America.

Hello Maycie,

The experience really has been the best part. I could probably make money doing a lot of other things but I truly enjoy this. You meet people from all over the world just starting out. I met my wife through the exchange program and have made many friends. My wife and I went out to dinner the other night with 7 of our best friends that we met the first and second year of the program. We looked around the table and realized 5 of these people have now become M.D.'s and we met them when they were just young students starting out. It has truly been a pleasure. I enjoyed helping with this process long before I ever got paid for it.

Thanks for your response back. You will see these people will become your extended family. We still keep in contact with all of our exchange people mostly by mail and they have brought different family and friends to visit when in US.

Our church also adopted a family from Vietnam when people fled by boats during the war. They spent their first american Xmas at our house and I still remember it. We kinda americanized his wife alittle more then he wanted. He was a pharmacist in Vietnam and had to reschool here. They were able to bring her brothers so the 4 became very close to our family and church.

My sister went one semester to a college on a boat and they travel the world and while in port you go visit you course of study places and while at sea your in classes. She became friendly with the Indonesian Crew and whenever the boat was in port in NY they crew always came to visit my parents home.

I guess that was one of the neatest things I grew up with being exposed to so many cultures and my parents love to travel.

Sure beats sitting around watching TV at night right! Talking with people and experiencing there way of life is very interesting.

Funniest thing was when our Vietnamise family saw fog for the first time they started laughing and calling it London Fog.
