Question What is the hardest thing about real estate sales?

My name is Elmo and I am new to Real Estate so I need a lot of help. I want to go into real estate sales but before I do, I need to know what is the hardest part about this job. Why do some realtors do well and others do not and what is the scariest part about this job?

I really need to know before I make my decision. I have a lot of desire to succeed but I want to know how to get started. Also, what is the best resource about real estate sales as far as what I will need to know to really get some sales and listings.

I really am interested in hearing what you experienced, older realtors have to say.

    Thanx! Elmo

    1. Getting started. Have as much money saved up as possible.
    2. Embrace the best of the old and new. I.e., old fashioned people
contact and networking and internet startegies. And don't forget
    perseverance and hard work.
    Best wishes.

I agree with the above. When you first start you usually need at least 12 months of living expenses plus marketing expenses in the bank. In today's real estate market you probably need 18-24 months of cash flow available.

The toughest part in real estate today is finding buyers.

Most successful agents have developed a large network of potential buyers. The either know someone or know someone who knows someone that is looking for a home.

If you want to be a successful agent you need to develop your network and keep yourself in the public eye, not just through advertising but also by shaking hands and kissing babies at local functions and fundraisers.

Being a top agent is tough in any economy. It's even tougher in today's market.
