Hello from Cincinnati via England!!
Hello Everyone!
My name is David and I am brand new not just to Real Estate but to America in general! I am 20 years old and moved over here from England, guess you could say I am after that immigrant dream!
I have emptied a lot of my pockets spending money on the real estate classes and then obviously the licenses and brokerage fees. Like I said I have moved to Cincinnati not knowing anyone less than a year ago. I originally joined the local brokerage, Sibcy Cline, however in August I have moved to Re/Max.
I absolutely love Real Estate and am determined to be nothing short of the best. I have all the ambition and drive, mixed in with a lot of enthusiasm! Now, heres my question to you, how do I go about getting some clients, since I am so young, my "sphere of influence" is all in university!! Typical eh?
I have taken Floyd Wickmans SMART (formerly known as Starmakers/Sweathogs) and am now going on to Day 5 of Brian Buffini's 100 Days to Greatness program. Have any of you had a similar experience of starting out in a city you didnt know with people you had never met?
I would love to hear some of your tips and tricks, I have already gone and got a website, etc TeamRobertsonHomes.com so feel free to critique that!
I look forward to hearing from all of you!
Thanks
David

Welcome to Real Estate Forum.
I'm not too far from you - I'm down in the Louisville KY / Lexington KY area in Shelbyville.
Regarding your site -
PROS:
1. Professional appearance.
2. Easy to find what you are looking for with clearly labeled buttons.
3. Great photos.
CONS:
1. Slow loading photo at the top.
2. This is my personal preference: I don't like photos of agents. It creates branding around that specific individual, and 20-30 years from now when you go to retire, it will make it less attractive to sell your business than a business that developed branding in some other fashion. Additionally, if you develop a team company name as a licensee using your name, in Kentucky - that licensee MUST maintain their real estate license to use that company/team name. This essentially forces the person that wants to retire, to remain involved in the business - and again is a further detractor from selling it to others.
3. For Kentucky, its required by the state real estate commission to have on the home page of the website:- 1. Principal broker or real estate company name
- 2. Street address and phone number of principal business location
