G'day everyone! First post - Australian interested in the USA

Hi everyone,

Just introducing myself as this seems to be the go on this forum. I am just starting out in looking to invest in the US property market. As some of you may be aware, the aussie $ is at records levels against the US so many of us aussies are looking to the US. However, i am not looking to rush in and will thoroughly research prior to taking the leap into a foreign country.

Anyway, i am hoping some people can steer me in the right direction or give me some areas to narrow down my research. Hopefully someone can give me advice on which areas/states or in particular a city/town that i can focus on. Obviously I am looking for an area which can combine good rental yields with future growth. I know there are many cities with incredibly high unemployment and some so called "bargains" are not what they seem.

I've tried to google different areas which are forecast to grow but can't seem to find something which is useful. I will keep searching. Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I hope to do enough research before a possible trip to the states to look further into it.
