An army soldier trying to secure my future
Well, i will just go by the name IceHouse for now. I am in the army and im 25. I am interested in getting into real estate. I have been doing some reading and i learned that i can use the va loan and i can buy a duplex as long as i live in it. Which so far sounds good. I actually found a triplex where my mortgage would be no more than 400 a month and the other two homes combined would rent out for 1000 a month. So i am just wondering if that sounds like a good plan.
Also I want everyone to know that i still have over a year before I even consider purchasing any home. I know that if and when no one is renting my place I will have to pay my mortgage out of pocket. Which is why I am waiting so long. I am letting my savings grow so I can fix any mishaps that happen along the way. I plan on starting small. I have my eye on homes about 80k and less. I dont want to get in too deep. I also would like to be able to pay it off fairly quickly so I can continue to grow my real estate endeavor. I am just trying to get all the knowledge and insight I can before i even start. I believe knowledge is power and I am here to arm myself.
So i will conclude with this, hello to all. And i look forward to picking all your brains for infinite knowledge, wisdom, and insight.

I love deadlines, I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
