Hello from GA!
Hi all-
I just completed the 75 hour course and will be taking the GA State exam as soon as I get my paperwork back from the school. I figured in the meantime I'd continue networking on the web and learn as much as I can from y'all!
I'm a 24 UGA grad (GO DAWGS!) still living in Athens, GA. I've got a couple interested brokers, but haven't selected one yet. Anyone have any tips for a rookie?
Thanks-
mJay

Welcome to the forum. You will learn a lot here. My advice would be a to choose a brokerage with a good training program, getting your license is easy, learning how to make a living in this business is hard. A brokerage that would pair you with a mentor would be best. A mentor who is successful, check their sales record on your board web site.

Welcome to the forum, enjoy the information here as it can help you a great deal. Thinking about going to GA later in the year, that's where my parents live.

You gotta love it when you finish a course! Congrats on completing your 75 hours. I know lots of people who just end up quitting before they finish so great job. Let me know if you need any help with anything...
Have a great day!

Thanks for the warm welcome all!
I passed my state exam with flying color and can't tell you how excited I am to start. I'm currently looking for a broker in Athens, GA and would love any recommendations.
@LRE- I don't have a website yet, waiting to sign with a broker. I do have an extensive web background. Before deciding to go into real estate, I worked for a Fortune 500 company in Web Marketing and am pretty well-versed there.
@Bones- How could you recommend finding a mentor? Are you assigned one? Do you reach out and find one yourself?
Thanks again for the welcome, I'm looking for any and all information.

Congratulations on passing your exam! I started at Coldwell Banker and paid them a training fee. They provided training and a mentor, but I found out who was successful in my office and spent a lot of time talking to them, finding out what they were doing. Those people were more than happy to share; I don't know if it's like that in every office, but that was my experience. So I would suggest getting close with people that are successful, because those are the people you are going to want to learn from.

Thats a great idea. Unfortunately I don't know many people directly in the market thus far, but the ones I do know have been more than willing to help me out.
I'm hoping to sign by the end of the week somewhere, thanks again for the advice, it is MUCH appreciated.
