Howdy!
I am a complete novice when it comes to real estate with my only experience coming from buying a couple houses. While on a job yesterday I was talking with my client about the field and she informed me that you can not jump straight into the field with your own company, that one must start out as an agent under a broker, and only after a couple of years could one branch out.
So last night I did some curious poking around and came across some info for my home state of Tennessee reading that one would need to work under a broker for three years before starting their own company?! Is this info legit? Are the regulations that tight in this field? I would think if someone had the money, a business plan, and got their license they could open say "Jim Bob's Real Estate".
Excuse the ignorance on the subject, but I was under the impression that the whole profession was somewhat rogue.
Thanks for your thoughts and comments!
