    Default College Student/Entrepreneur

    Hi everyone,

My name is Brett and I am a freshmen at the University of Wiscoinsin - Eau Claire.

I am one of the founders of Home Jotter which we created to provide college students and a fast and easy approach to finding off campus housing. We offer this service to students and realors for free.

We came up with the idea after going through the struggles ourselves or finding a place to live off-campus.

We jus launched the website on July 7th and already have over 50 clients in 20 different states.

I am wondering if anyone has advice on the site or how we can find more real estate companies to sign up.

Because I am a newer member, I can't post the URL easily so here it is:

    Home Jotter . COM

    Thanks,

    Brett

Default This is a great idea

Tell us more about how this service will work. How will you compete with Craigslist for listings?

    Thank you for your response!

Here is it out works: You locate your college, then you will come to a page with a list of properties for that college. When you select a college you will be able to view pictures and other general information about the property (ammenites, rent, number of rooms, ETC.)

We are much different from craigslist because we offer ONLY student housing. Craigslist can be very difficult to find student housing because the keywords you type vary from listing to listing so sometimes you may not see all the properties available.

As far as other websites, we will be the only one to have a centralized list for each school.

For example, there is no student housing list in Eau Claire, WI. And when you type in Eau Claire student housing on google, tons of real estate companies websites come up. And this is the case with many schools we have researched. Our goal is to group all of these companies sites onto one site giving students a much easier way to find housing.

You could insert a Craigslist script as well in there and with RSS feed, get thousands of uniques to your site. Good idea you had there and lots of potential...
