Inexperienced from Oregon :)
Hi there! I'm Lacy, a 22 year old interested in investing in the Real Estate market. I currently own a small business in PDX with my fiance and are in the process of buying our first home. I am uneducated with the housing world, but look forward to pursuing my license. Anyway, please forgive my ignorance in posts (please don't tear me apart ahaha!), as I am here to gain some knowledge from others personal experiences as well as to discover the direction I would like to go. On a personal note, I love horses and am currently training my 3 year old mustang gelding and enjoying every minute! Anyway Nice to meet you all!
Regards.Last edited by HrdWrknWoman; 06-14-2009 at 01:08 PM.

Well, welcome Lacy... I wish I started my RE investing career at 22...
Ahh, we won't tear you up too much, and all questions are treated with respect, as all of us had to start somewhere. This forum is a great place to get experienced opinions, but remember they are opinions, and what one says may not be 100% all the time, so take responce at face value.
I would like a Mustang, but not one of those 1-HP types, more like the 480-HP one...

Hi Lacy. haha I started...
when I was that age too! Great for you! There is so much to learn in real estate. You certainly do not need to get any r/e licence unless you plan on being a realtor; if you plan on being an "investor" youre buying, holding , and selling your own properties. The cost vs. benefits do not weigh out... in my option. You can always get any kind of list from a realtor, or access to the mls(depending on your area). Becoming an agent alone will not teach you about creative financing, finding, funding, fixing, management and recognizing a deal. Only time and experience will help... Stay with it!
Once you have spent some time learning, get yourself a very-very seasoned mentor. Who is where you want to be!
I have invested in all different real estate - the best bang for my buck, and what has kept me moving and shaking (and very profitable) are my rents from mobile homes.
Glad to have you in the community! -John
