    Hi Everyone,
I am a Realtor in Columbus, Ohio, but my main business is doing search engine optimization for Realtors' websites. I will post tips on here, but if you would like me to take a look at your website and talk in more detail about your goals and what we do, please send me a private message anytime!

Hello and welcome to the forum. I'll look forward to you SEO tips. It seems as though any more I spend as much time trying to hone my SEO skills as I do my Realtor skills - not sure if I'm winning or not in fact usually I just end up getting more confused. I hope that you'll be able to add some clarity in a merky arena.

RealEstatesSEO, say you have a client with a pre-existing real estate listing site and static homepage, what one SEO method do you perform that carries the most weight to a pre-existing site? Would you say building links, starting and maintaining a blog for your clients, forums, content development and optimization?

    Oh yeah, welcome aboard!

I would put the links as your number one priority, but this is also more difficult than on-page SEO. Ask related site with a high PageRank to link to you using keyword rich anchor text. A blog is also great for SEO because it is updated frequently and adds keyword rich content to your website.

Cool, I have been doing that as well. I just switched the permalinks to display title's too. Maybe you can help me with this... I have quite a few links in my articles (refs, examples, etc), since I have a high number of those should they be nofollow?

    Thanks for the response.

Yes, they should. Keep those search engine "spiders" on your site. I blogged about this topic here: realestatesseo.com/link-leaks/2009.
