    Default Hello from New Zealand

I am 50 y.o. and I help my wife with micro-investments in real estate. Can't invest myself; I have spent all my money on my business and my cars . Real estate an interesting game in New Zealand.

Thanks for the welcome. I suppose NZ market is similar to the US: plenty of opportunities if you have the cash. Just bought 2 rental properties that instantly bring me 6.7% rental return.

I guess there are opportunities everywhere right now ... and it seems the secret to success is the ability to secure financing.

    Good luck in your ventures!

    Default hi bartak

Welcome to the board! Do you know what the average cost of a home is in NZ? Just curious as too how expensive or inexpensive it is to live there.

Welcome to the board. Try to contribute when you can and read as much as you can. There is a lot to learn here. Welcome again!

Just bought a very sound and tidy 3-bedroom house with 2 lounges, beautiful views over the harbour on 1/4 acre for NZ$155,000 (US$92,000) in Bluff (the southernmost town). That house will rent at NZ$200-210 per week. trademe.co.nz is the place where all kiwis buy real estate (also cars and many other items); there is a huge choice there.

Thank you for the info. That was very informative. Do you get positive cash flow from that property if you financed the whole thing?
