Hello from Medford Oregon
Hello,
I just found this forum and think it is great from what I have seen so far.
I am a well trained and somewhat experienced. But starting over due to a health situation. I have Fibromyalgia and in the last year my family almost lost everything due to difficulty in finding a doctor that would consistanty treat me.
My family was homeless for just over a year. Thankfully I finally found doctors that are treating both the cause and symptoms. Now we are starting over. We moved to Medford for many reasons I will not go into right now.
One thing that is missing in this area is a Real Estate Investors Group. I also have not found many people here that understand the concept of the Mastermind Group. I am going to Eugene and Portland in Feb to attend the local real estate investor groups there and want to start one here. I plan on talking to the leaders in those groups to get advice on starting both a local Real Estate Investor Group and Also a Mastermind Group.
I believe I can also get great advice on this here so any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Hello from Medford Oregon
Hi Kristen welcome to the forum. Is spite of the problems you've had it sounds like you have a positive outlook. How's the real estate market look up there in webfoot country (I can say that as I was born in Grants Pass)? Let me know if I can help in any way.
Good luck,

Kristen, keep up the positive attitude! You mentioned possibly joining a Mastermind Group. I belong to a small one and can honestly say i get alot out of it. Sometimes good as a sounding board. Best of luck!

Thank you for the Great Reception
I do not have a option of having a bad attitude I may slip a little some times.
Which is why I know I need a mastermind group.
Any ideas on best way to start one?
I have some great why's, They are 6, 15 and 18 not to mention my rather challenging husband of 23 years.
I am going to Eugene for the Real Estate investors group meeting on the 4th then Portland for the Meeting on the 5th. Planning on meeting with the Board Members to get help on setting up a group in this area.
Are any of you from this area?
Any other places I may post information on this new group that will get the word out would be great. I have also posted it on the richdad forum and craigslist.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Mastermind Groups/Investor Groups
I am in Delaware and attend investor group meetings in Delaware, Pennsylvania and some times New Jersey. I have found that they vary greatly depending on who is in charge and what they will allow. I prefer the meetings that will allow alot of networking with other members as compared to meetings that are designed only around the featured speaker trying to sell his/her product/service. Most meetings offer the speakers, but I prefer the ones that also allow/promote interaction between the members. When this happens I am able to find properties for sale, sell properties that I may have, find investors needing financing that I can help them locate, meet investors that need properties rehabbed (I am an investor, hard money broker and have a general contracting company). If I were to give insight on starting a group, I would emphasize the need for the group to allow/promote interaction among the members. The groups that I belong to that do not emphasize this have an average attendence of 25-30 people per meeting, the ones that do emphasize interaction average 100-150 people per meeting. I guess I am not alone in my thinking. Good luck.

I totally agree on the networking
I agree on the networking big time. It is one of the most important things. When you go to any event including seminars and are not allowed to openly network you loose so much and it quickly becomes not worth going.

PA is where I started 8 years ago. how is DIG doing?
We moved back to the west coast several years ago.
Thank you again for the feedback it must be cooold back there. which is one of the reasons we left.

Yes, JCINVESTOR, it has been cold here in the northeast lately, however today and tomorrow we are getting a short term heat wave (45-50 degrees). DIG is still there, although I utilize more of the sub-groups. They are smaller, less sales pitch from speakers and allow more one-on-one networking. There is also a group called RING (Real Estate Investors Networking Group) that meets monthly which usually brings several good contacts per meeting.
