Im brand new here
Hello.
Im brand new here. I joined because I think Ive made some mistakes with real estate (as a homeowner) and want to see what my prospects are.
A lot of my friends have bought a starter home then sold it for a profit and moved up but well....Ill search around and see which category is appropriate for my questions.
Short form....we live in a little starter home..a Cape Cod with only 1 bathroom and no heat upstairs and I have a 14 yr old daughter and a 12 year old son.
I would LOVE to move up to a bigger home but my wife is VERY cautious and content to stay where we are...
I need to get some SOLID FACTS to convince her to move.

Hi fibesdrummer,
Welcome to the forum.
Well I'm no genius, nor am I married; however, my advise is to stay in your current home if the wife prefers.
How's the saying go, "If Mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."
Maybe you could fix it up and do some repairs rather than moving.
I hope the info helps.

First be sure the economic downturn will not impact your income. I expect things to get worse.
Second it may not hurt to "window shop" for a new home. That might help you and the Mrs. decide what to do.

Im brand new here
Welcome to the forum, hopefully you'll find some information that will help you get a bigger house. Something you might think about, is to do a lease option on a house that you can buy later. You could do a lease option on the one you live in also if you couldn't sell it quickly. To get more information on lease options go to my RE blog and look at the Lease Option pages. This should give you enough information to see if that might be a way for you to move up. The blog URL is in the signature below.
Good luck,
donrockTo get a wealth of real estate information visit my blog at Real Estate Blog. If you need information about foreclosures or short sales and how to make money with them pick up a free report at Foreclosure Report.
