    Default Reo process

I am looking for information on how to find and purchase an REO in the state of Illinois. I have searched many sites with nothing solid to go off of. I have no idea what to do or where to start. If anyone who has pursuded this path with any success before would be willing to offer some insight, I would greatly appreciate it

I think you should call around to real estate agents and ask if they list these. They normally work with asset management companies to sell them. Or you could try to keep a close eye on forclosure filings and try to contact the mortgage company directly to make an offer but it seems like you usually get them cheaper by waiting till they have been listed.
