3rd Party IDX Solutions

For the life of me I cannot find the thread where someone posted about the legality of local MLS's not allowing 3rd party MLS solutions. Right now, our local MLS is not allowing these 3rd party solutions, and before I blow a gasket I would like to review the case that was cited.

Knowing my luck, it was a county/state issue, and not a national/NAR issue. I really dislike our local solution and want more bells and whistles.

It's a moot point now. Our MLS does not allow any third party applications whatsoever.

While at first I thought that this was a bad thing, it's actually a GREAT thing. The database programming/online marketing/drip email/tracking/analysis, etc. programs that I have developed are far more sophisticated than anyone else in my area.

The more that I thought about it, why would I want to level the playing field with a 3rd party solution? It's just another area where our new brokerage will crush the competition.
