    All comes down to how busy you are. Forcing registration will generate more leads (all things being equal), but the quality will be a bit less than not forcing. If you want more leads to work, forcing is the answer. If you are sufficiently busy and want to work with higher quality, then not forcing registration is the ticket.

    I think it's a good idea to force registration after a consumer has gotten a feel for your site. Forcing registration right up front is a mistake in my opinion.

    I would say option #3. I don't think I would want to be forced to sign up to a website, so I wouldn't try and force users to sign up for my websites.
