Can you be more specific? What IDX solution are you considering and how will the map tie into it?

    Default San Diego IDX Map

I think San Diego Real Estate is looking for a San Diego County map with mouse over image changes w/ hot spot linking and a popup Communities Menu when a part of the county is selected.

This is all very doable, but tying it into the IDX search is a different matter.

The map would have to come from the IDX provider themselves so it could be integrated into their system unless they are willing to take the 3rd party map and integrate into their search.

Tying into the IDX is not a difficult task. If the IDX is a framed approach there are ways to work within the frame to tie in the searches to the map hotspot. If the IDX is a download and you have the data in databases tables on your server then it's just a matter of a tying in the hotspots to a query. The problem with most commercial IDX solutions is that they hold the data on their server and you lease it by the month. Alterations, if they will do them, are costly.

If anyone would like more information in IDX/MLS to realty web sites send me an email or PM.

    Frobn,

The provider I'm considering using has recommended that I find someone that can provide me with a Hotspot Map capability! I can provide you an example of what I'm looking for if needed!

    Please advise...

Its a simple project which can be done with frontpage or dreamweaver. If you need someone to do it for you send me the map your are going to use along with the locations and the urls. You can get the urls from he IDX provider.

Just out of curiousity, can you tell who the IDX provider is?

If you supply the map and urls the project should take about a hour to an hour and half. If you can't find someone to do it for free the cost should be under $100.
