Google is doing a site update

It looks as though Google is doing a site update. We were in position 200 yesterday night, 90 this morning and now 60! Anyone else noticing noticeable moves in Google?

Google updates everyday across multiple data centers. Is that rank the rank that you see or a data center average?

Did you do anything special to your own site over the last few days? This could be what has caused this surge to the front. As stated above also, is this sticking or is it temporary? I have a feeling that it will be one or the other and your results will be short lived. However, it sounds like you are doing some things to get you there in the long term.

My site has been in a penalty for the last 60 days so it is hard to say other than that it finally returned from the abyss sometime late last night or early this morning. That type of movement sounds as if you are moving in the right direction. Follow it for a week or so and if it sticks after that long, it is likely that you are moving up and you owe yourself a congrats!

Google updates constantly. Back in the day you would see these big updates but now they are constantly updating.

Google Local is the only part of Google that does not update on a weekly or daily basis.

You'll see quite a bit of change over the next couple of weeks due to the pending PR update. SERPs has been jumping around, previous old PRs have been appearing and disappearing... its all in build up to the PR update at the end of this month...
