Update

Are we ever going to get another PR update? I don't get too carried away with PR, but it has become somewhat of a game to see how high I can get it!

Bring on the update G!

Who knows when G will update the PR in the toolbar - maybe never.

There is one thing to remember, though. If you have ever communicated with Google about SERP's they will tell you that Page Rank is the most critical part of their ranking algorithm. Does that mean the PR in the toolbar? Most SEO pros don't think so.

The consensus is that Google uses an internal form of PR that is continuously updated as the Googlebot retrieves new information from the web and it is parsed through the Google machine. What we eventually see in the toolbar is probably many months behind the current info that Google is using - if it's even the same form of PR.

We all like to stroke our egos and see more green in the toolbar. But I'm still not convinced that it ties directly to the SERP's that I see on any given day.

I agree completly. I see PR 3 & 4's beating PR 6's in the SERPS all the time. That is proof enough for me.

Agreed.

PR no longer concerns me. I am interested strictly in ranking in the SERPS and I see no correlation between PR and rankings.

I would love to see a Back Link update though.

Does anyone remember the exact date of the last BL update?

It's amazing how people don't get it and spend so much time with the PR game. I have gotten rid of the toolbar and reactivated my instinct

It looks as though Google has started their update.

I see several sites that went down in PR.

My sites are not even dancing. Apparently Google just updated me in the blink of an eye and left! Backlinks are up, and PR is the same, but I have not seen any fluctuations. Two of my sites (which are not even sites really yet ) lost their PR and cache in the links pages though. They looked like farms though so it was to be expected. So I got some work to do.
