Default How long should it take to get a new site cached?

I'm waiting patiently for 2 of my newest sites to get cached by Google so I can start a reciprocal linking campaign. They're both about 3 weeks old. How long does this normally take?

Hi, your doing it the wrong way round, start your linking from day one. Directories don't worry about your PR they worry about theirs. Submit them to DMOZ, then forget about it. Do some cheap ppc on Mamma, Turbo 10, 7 Search, they may not get you ppc hits, but the SE's will find you, join several forums where thy let you post your URL and the the Google bots will find you.

I was thinking about all of that. My one website is pretty much finished (well, they're always a work in progress), but my newest one isn't quite ready to post to forums. However, I could start getting directory links on both of them right now which is exactly what I did with my first site. I got directory links before ever knowing about other types of reciprocal links.

Guess my problem this time around is knowing which directories are good ones & which are bad (using 302 redirects, etc.). I wish we could start a thread here about good directories to use.

Not quite ready to submit to DMOZ yet, although I realize it takes forever, if ever!

    Hi www.pheedster.com/directories.php

That will get you started, and you will probably curse when you see the list!
Simple tip - Go to Google and type "Directories Non Reciprocal Links"
or "Real Estate Directories" or even better in the google toolbar box list your competitors sites as follows , lets say they are ww .Smithvilleproperties.com
type "Smithvilleproperties" No www or .com - when the results (links) come up add to your favourites and start submitting to the same ones that they use.

Doesn't it take 4, even 6 months sometimes?

It can take that long and sometimes even longer. DMOZ has it's issues plus many webmasters do not submit properly.
