    No doubt they are different!
but the question is, which one is the best?
I can tell you one big difference between them..
indexing pages takes 1 week in google while it takes more than that in yahoo, Also the period is differ in Yahoo, since paid submission indexed before unpaid submission..

For one, Yahoo's search engine is now powered by Bing...so the question should have been about Google vs Bing. Secondly, if they would use the same algorithm both search engines would return same results, which is obviously not the case here...

Very much different! But I find it easy to rank on yahoo with onpage SEO. Google is a little more into backlinks and a whole list of other factors. No search engine is the same and each have their own calculations, all of which are kept a mystery so we can't figure it out entirely.
