    Default Re: Meta Text

Meta text is the text used in meta tags. A meta tag is what is used to tell the web browser what to display, or the search engines what the page is about (Google doesn't use meta tags anymore). At the very top of your web browser is the title of the web page. That is taken from a meta tag. To see the meta tags used in the web page you're looking at hit Ctrl+u (hold the control key and the u key down at the same time). What will open up in a new window is what the computer reads to render the web page, The meta tags are located near the top of the page.

    Example:

<meta name="description" content="Real Estate News for Agents, REALTORS, Consumers, Brokers, Buyers, Sellers, Investors" />

is the meta tag used for this website. The content section is what some search engines use to determine what the web page is about. Google reads the actual content.
