Default Why is ranking so different b/t Yahoo & Bing Vs. Google?

I've recently launched a local real estate site in my area and I'm ranking very well already for both Yahoo and Bing (even top #1 spot for certain phrases) but Google results/rankings are extremely poor.

Can anyone offer advice on why Google's criteria is so much different than the others? Does it matter how long your site has been up and running? Aside from link building and dynamic content, is there anything else they look at heavily that I'm overlooking?

    Thanks for any advice!

    Thumbs up

Yes, you are going right. Google has different and various criteria to list the website. some of it are age of domain, fresh and related information, quality links and many other. you can check out more about google quality guideline at google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769#3

The algorithm for all of search engines is different, also the factors are different. This is the reason behind it.

Thanks for the responses! From what I hear, Google has just recently changed their algorithm as of Feb 24th 2011 so I'm not sure if my site will be affected but I'm sure its going to affect a lot of sites....

Thanks for the advice. The site is about 4 months old although I reserved the domain over a year ago.

For my keywords, I'm showing up on page 7 on yahoo and bing now but still not rated yet for Google even though I have some decent backlinks so far. Guess I'll just have to wait it out and create more backlinks...

    Default Searc hEngine Google!

As you are well aware that Google, Yahoo and Bing are the 3 giant search engine across the globe and among then Google is the largest of all the search engines so far. Search engine have set of undefined algorithm and on basis of that it evaluate the websites quality and rank accordingly. Google, Yahoo and Bing have different algorithm to check the quality and usefulness of the website (you might see Bing and Yahoo results a bit similar because Yahoo is using bing support in terms of search results) but Google is independent and have more traffic then Bing and Yahoo.

Obviously no one exactly know what are Google algorithms are but generally Google look more into quality of back links, quality of content and some other factors to rank the website well fro the desired terms.

So, In order to get top on Google focus more on Quality link backs and the quality of your content on the website.

In my experience both Yahoo and Bing pay a lot more attention to keyword density, whereas Google is far more concerned about "keyword prominence". Keyword prominence is a combination of how well you organize the keywords in your site and where you use them. Some make the mistake of placing the same keywords throughout the site hoping Google will find at least one of their pages for that specific keyword. I always recommend a person set up a keyword matrix and assign appropriate keywords to each page, making them prominent page by page.

This is a simple short answer to a very complex question but I hope it helps.
