AdWords doesnt help in SEO.
Keyword tool that comes with AdWords let you find potential keywords for your campaign.
IMO its not the best keyword tool for ppc keyword research. There are some other great tools in the market for this kind of job that can check on google, competitor sites and other sources to give you an idea of the keywords to market on.

Nice share, Google Keyword tool is really great because it's free and theoretically it's the most accurate of every keyword tool out there (for Google searches) since it comes from the source itself. I believe other keyword tools simply derive their data from the Google Keyword Tool.
