Default Where do you buy your domain names from?

I am currently looking to purchase a domain name for a new project of mine. I normally go to godaddy. Is there another place to go that is cheaper than $12 a domain name? Do they offer a good hosting service also?

Right now i would say that Yahoo is the cheapest place to buy domains from. They have a $2 special for all new domains but after the first year it jumps to $20 a year. Their hosting plans are pretty cheap too but i would suggest going with Hostgator or Godaddy for hosting because of the discount codes.

I use Godaddy and Moniker and they work great. Godaddy is a little bit pricey, but I'm used to their domain name management and have been with them for years. Moniker is a less expensive solution if you need private registration as well.

Looove GoDaddy for their excellent service, but I've finally started purchasing from Namecheap. I think they cost about the same as GoDaddy, but the big thing is that you get the privacy for free, where as with Godaddy you pay an extra $10.
