Is Internet Marketing Really Worth It?
I've been talking to my brother about marketing ideas for real estate, he owns a painting company here. He said that he said that he hired an internet marketing company to promote his website on google. He said that he thought it was a little pricey at first, but after two months this was the only marketing that he did.
The painting industry is different from real estate, but the concept is still the same. I've been reading some of the other threads about internet marketing and the consensus seems to be the same: integrate is as 'part' of your marketing strategy.
Are other people taking this approach? Is it worth it?
The guy who does works on my brothers site has been contacting me. He does a good job for my brother and seems to be pretty reputable so I think I may get my feet wet this weekend. I got to start from scratch because I don't even have my own site but he says once the site is up, he can get it listed on page 1 on google within a month. Any suggestions on hosting?

Internet Marketing
Well Internet marketing is just one avenue for generating leads for real estate. From what I hear, Internet marketing for real estate is very competitive compared to other industries. It just depends on how competitive your area of real estate is on the Internet.

Over 50% of my business is due to the internet. I am no expert with SEO, but I do it on my own. If this guys says he can get you on the front page of google in a month, he is really good, not doing ethical SEO, or the competition is low in your area. It took me over a year to get to the front page, but once again I am no expert.
Don't wait for your ship to come in, build one.

Yes, online marketing is really worth it provided that you know how to handle and make your business competitive. You have to try for some online strategies and focus on those ways that are effective for your business.

Yes, internet marketing works, especially SEO, but if done correctly. I've managed over 100 clients in all sorts of industries and it works if the client is willing to make necessary changes and put the resources in.
It requires constant maintenance, as Google/Yahoo/Bing search engines change their algorithms regularly. Fresh content, fresh links, and frequent site tweaking. Also, it's all about testing your site to see if your visitors are clicking what you want them to click (i.e. your Contact form).
Since you don't have a website yet, I'd recommend you base it off a CMS like Wordpress or Drupal to make it easier for you to manage.

Since other people already addressed the seo portion, I'll address hosting. Since your site is new and probably won't get that much traffic to begin with, get small virtual account. Amerinoc is a good host.

Internet marketing is different form SEO in some ways, both have similar goals but Internet marketing is more of pulling the crowd by advertising and offers.SEO is building our site to get more traffic,it make sure that site is well structured and if a site contains unique information,it can be in rank 1 soon. The competition on several niches might be heavy.what you should be doing is following the process and to persist with it.It might take time but with perfect smart work we have every possibility to make our site to rank 1 and get tons of business.

It's important to work with a reputable company but saying "internet marketing" is like saying "marketing". It's so general. What you're talking about is search engine marketing. And "worth it" has to be handled on a case by case basis. Remember it's all about ROI. Is a superbowl ad worth it? Depends who you are and if you can justify a 2 million dollar cost.

As others have mentioned, internet marketing is paramount these days. Getting to the front page of Google in one month may be a tall feat, especially if you're in a competitive market. Good luck!
