    Default .US domain

    Whether .us domain are widely used or popular?
    I know that .com is one of the most popular extension but want to know other members comment.

    As I searched some good domains names with good search volume, number of PPC advertisers and CPC.

    One of the Domain Name Stats:
    Search Volume => 301,000/mo
    PPC Advertisers => 108
    CPC => $3

    According to Google, there isn't a difference between .com/.net/.biz/.us/etc extensions. It's about putting the effort into the site itself. The best example for a good .us domain is del.icio.us, the social bookmarking site.

    Some TLDs are more country-specific, such as .co.uk, which would be more appropriate to rank with in the UK result pages.

    Between .com and .us, I would choose .com because people are more used to it.

    I accept this but still one can have .us or anything and can still make the people get used to it,if they have the unique content which people needs.

    Nice example of del.icio.us. So whether .us domain performs well in the USA result pages.

    Default thats stupid...

    Ok, people say that their is no difference between .com and .us for googles perspective... Im not 100% positive, but that sounds like bullshit. Type in 100 random things in google, and how many items out of the 1000 (10 each) will you see on the first page that are .us.... MAYBE 1-5 if that. .com, .net and .org are the big 3, these carry equal weight in the eyes of google.

    Why are so many .us and .ws and .whatever keyword domains still available for sale? Because they are not as powerful!

    Default com/net/org

    I do regular affiliate marketing in addition to developing real estate web sites. The concensus in the affiliate marketing community is that com/net/org extensions are FAR better than anything else.

    The issue in most cases is about trust. People are skeptical about other extensions because these have been typically held by low quality companies or outright scammers (especially .biz). It's a shame since these are perfectly legitimate TLDs. Maybe in the future this will change as more companies use them but for now stick to .com.

    I think that the issue is two-fold.

    As you mention, users have more confidence in the com/net/org domains than they do in us/info/biz domains. That
