    Default Google Creating Facebook Killer

Google is worried about facebook becoming a search engine so Google is getting into the facebook market.

    http://gizmodo.com/5573953/rumor-goo...ller-very-soon

Well this is kinda wacky. Citing a "very credible source," Digg founder Kevin Rose tweeted that Google is readying "Google Me," a social service intended to go toe-to-toe (face-to-face?) with Facebook. It's like Google stalking, but official, and thus marginally less creepy!
Google Buzz, their most recent foray into social networking, was not a resounding success (read: total privacy shitshow) and I imagine there's some lingering skepticism about Google's ability to actually keep all of its users information on lockdown.
Then again, they already know just about everything there is to know about you, so maybe it'd be easier to forget Facebook altogether and just click a button in Gmail that says, "Yes! Cull your extensive records to make a "Google Me" profile in my best image, selectively including the photographs and personal interests likeliest to get me laid." Kidding, kidding, I promise that's not what I'm all about. Seriously! Google me! [Kevin Rose via Runnin Scared and SF Weekly]

Facebook is the most annoying thing in the whole wide world lol. Besides I think Google will have a hard time stealing even half of facebooks users.

Facebook isn't annoying when you are making money from it

Yeah, I agree, Google will have a difficult time finding people to add to their social network. Google Buzz didn't live up to what it was intended to be. They're going to have to change their strategy if they want to play with the big boys in the social media community.

If it's going to be a Facebook killer it remains to be seen.. But I think It's not going to happen.

Personal feelings about Facebook aside, I just don't see it happening. Facebook is too established, and if you know about network effects, then you understand that one of FB's key strengths is the network it has already built-up and has in place, which in turn is also one of the key factors pushing Facebook's growth. Granted, everybody knows Google, but it doesn't have the same established social network and consumer acceptance. I highly doubt we will ever be referring to whatever Google creates as "the site that killed Facebook."

Would agree with this 100%. I don't see how Google could penetrate this market, as Facebook is extremely well grounded, very strategically established and has an enourmous marketshare. I believe anything is possible, but it would be an enormous feat on Googles behalf.

Unless they could come up with something absolutely mindblowing and innovative and not just a "me too" social network structure then I don't see it happening. As of now Facebook is pretty much untouchable, but who knows?...

LOL these two behemoth's are really on each other's throat huh? At this point I don't think FB is killable, but it would be interesting to see what the Big G could come up with...

In my opinion Google should also launch Social networking site which should full fill the public demand on their all expects.
