Default Site's Speed: A new factor in ranking

Google is now taking into account one more factor in your rankings and that's the site's speed.

While site speed is a new signal, it doesn't carry as much weight as the relevance of a page. Currently, fewer than 1% of search queries are affected by the site speed signal in our implementation and the signal for site speed only applies for visitors searching in English on Google.com at this point.

As the competition increases, Google has to look for new ways to range the sites, so that's why they have decided to consider the speed, but there will be new factors.

Speed is always a factor for every webmaster and Google action is very relevant.

    Some tips:

Always check your graphics size and extension.
    CSS style coding
    Choice of Theme size
    Limit Flash

You can also put links instead of videos embedded on your website, in this way your website uploading speed will be far much better.

there are over 200 ranking factors and this is probably not too high on the list...and if you have a giant hosting company....hostgator or Godaddy for instance...you can rest easy!

Can someone please shed some light on the best file type for Graphics, because some sites load incredibly quickly but do have great quality images, I have always found this a problem in the past.

Nice implementation I think, it will help Google to filter the search results. There are too many sites with huge flash ads witch rank good in Google and after you visit them they mess up your PC.
