changing url of your subpages may affect your site in terms of link popularity and its ranking on search results.

when you change your url to a new one, your site's link popularity will be divided to your old and new one. so you must use 301 redirect so that your old backlinks from your old url can be accummulated to your new url.

your current ranking in search results may also be affected depends on what targeted keyword you will place on your url.

Default It kills your previous works...

It kills your website if your current backlinks with titles and urls are not revised. You should be very careful with this. You can lose the trust google put in your website.

Not true at all my friend. Well sort of. A 301 Redirect can pass all that good page rank.

    Default 301 Redirect

Just be sure to setup a 301 redirect for each URL you change. Your rankings should not be affected much by doing this since Google will attribute the former URL's links to your new URL with the 301 redirect in place.

Changing url of the site means all the hard work in promoting the former link was totally lost,as in back to zero. It doesn't necessarily kill your site but your site's popularity only. No PR,no backlink and no traffic to make it short.

    Default need more info

when you say "restructured my URLs" do you mean you have changed you domain, or just changing your internal pages?

I assume from everyone's response that you mean you have migrated to a new domain, which I kind of agree about the 301 vs 302 but if its just subpages it won't be much of an impact

a clean site is always a better one

now as for the site map, I have always believed it is a must for any site.
you should have already had one and been sending information to the search engines every time new content is added to your site.

Changing URL is never advisable. The backlinks you've got from previous URL name is subjected to get lost,100% of it. but if it is necessary to change it,it is up to you to get it advertise all over again to get a good PR.

A simple 301 redirect will solve your problem. If you are not making the redirect, then you'll lose the link juice. Make sure you dont change all the URLs, rather change the ones which are really needful.

I think it will influence and you are likely to lose some traffic as you will have to redirect and it's not very convenient. Some people don't like to wait.
