if you mean adding adsense code on your blog, no, they wont affect google's serp.

I observed you have quality content, just continue that. To improve more your serp, you have to collect many quality backlinks from other website which have topics in common. Increasing SERP is not a one night-job-done. It needs months to be well done.

    Default Adsense, Adwords and Rankings

I have been doing SEO for quite sometimes and I have to tell you that participating in any paid marketing campaigns does not affect ones ratings.

There were many rumors that Google gives "extra bonuses" to people who spend money with them. Not true. This would tarnish their reputation and would end up in being their worst nightmare.

Google makes money of ads, that's true. But let's talk some business sense for a minute. Google is #1 search engine because of its unbiased ranking and ability to provide with most relevant search results. If someone spends money on Google but their website is not very relevant it would be easy to track and it would become a huge scandal which would tarnish their reputation of being the best. Also, why in the world would they "promote" in natural search results someone who is spending money with them? This would result in spending less money with AdWords and from the business standpoint it is counterproductive.

After studying how AdWords ranking system works I can tell that it's scoring is very similar to natural search web ranking, so if you advertise on AdWords you have to optimize your landing pages. That will push your ad higher and also will cost you less per click. One of the most common misconceptions about AdWords is that people think they pay exact amount of their bid. This is not true. Google assigns rank to your page and even you bid less than your competitor you may end up being number one ad on the list and attract more clicks while saving a bundle.

Well are you talking about adwords or keywords. Keywords go on your site. Adwords are Googles paid advertising.
