    Default Google slap

Are all of you familiar with google slap? I think you better study it. To avoid being slap with google. Coz once you are slapped with google, goodbye to your keywords, or else you may switch with PPC, or change your domain.

Google slap can be caused by "pages that took while to load"

Having squeeze pages containeed content that was full of sales hype rather than being useful and informative.
Content of your page was not related to the keyword that you were bidding on.

***Google slap can result to having a PR 0 of 10,no traffic at all, and a Quality score of 10 being reduced to 1.
    Avoid duplicated contents!

You are exactly right. Duplicate content is a giant no-no in Google's eyes. So, avoid at all costs.

However, in some instances your website my seem to have been Google slapped, but it really isn't. Sometimes Google changes its algorithm causing your site to fluctuate in the SERPs. Generally, if you weren't slapped you will return to your original ranking. So don't jump to conclusions! I have experienced this several times. It can be frustrating, but now I realize it is apart of Google and there is nothing I can do.

    Cheers!

Yes, Google is cleaning up it's search results by eliminating copy and paste sites. That is a great thing for us honest webmasters who create our own content.

Copy paste content is not good, google slap is really terrible, so we should all be very careful of posting articles on different sites.

    Another misleading thread

A Google PENALTY does not result from dup content, it comes from Black Hat SEO tricks

If duplicate content was bad then newspaper sites would all get a penalty for their keyword "newspaper" because of all the duplicate API content...

And realtors with their own IDX database would get a penalty and that JUST DOES NOT HAPPEN!

You are right, but your site will get penalised for duplicate content as the whole site will be removed from the index which in my opinion is actually worse!!

One of my sites got de-indexed a couple of years ago and nowe i make sure all my domains redirect to 1 root domain....BE WARNED!

The only possible way you would get de-indexed is if your site was 100% content from other websites and it was clear to Google you were plagiarizing content. Once you are in the index it takes human intervention to remove you from it. (Unless you remove the content from it or your domain expires. Just because you are in the index does not mean you come up in search results.)

If you did get a penalty and a de-listing/indexing then the worst thing you can do is point your penalized domains at a new domain because the penalty follows you like a bankruptcy of sorts for quite awhile. You either sort it out with Google or start fresh with a new domain. If you were de-indexed then I would have started from scratch.

    On the dup content issue...

like I said, if you have a custom MLS database within your site ALL the listings will be duplicate content but Google will see that as an authority site. So why would they see all that content as an authority site when it is all duplicated?

Because it has not been plagiarized.

So to just say you can not have duplicate content is a very misleading statement that offers other agents that read this bad advice.

Good advice is to say; "Dont steal someone elses work and if you do you will get de-listed", if you can write a good property description on the MLS, you can write good website copy. If you can not write then hire someone to do it for you. If you are not willing to spend some money on a good website for yourself as a REALTOR then you need to stop selling real estate because you are obviously not very serious about it.

Look at the websites that are in the top 10 slots in the SERP's for your local area. If your website is not as nice as theirs how on earth do you expect to compete?

This is really terrible; to avoid duplicate content now there are so many tools are there to workout. It is very much possible to create multiple of articles with single article. But i don't know how could i would be worth for the quality content; if you do this then i think the duplicate content problem with your article is been quite manageable.
If you can't do this work; no one can do this.
