Google, Yahoo, MSN
In terms of generating traffic for your site, just look at the log file or statistics reports for your site. The best one is the one that's generating the most traffic.
If you're using Adwords, etc. than improving the quality score of your ad will increase the number of impressions you get (and hopefully clicks). Each engine works differently, so it's hard to compare ad content - again, look at the analytics/stats.
If you don't already do it, track all of your forum/blog signatures (note that the signature link to my site has a tracking number), directory submissions, links, etc. to see what's working in terms of generating traffic.
There's no "right answer". The best one is the one that generates traffic for you.SearchTheJungle.com

They all are best in their own places but in terms of Search Engine, Google dominates the internet.

Google carries about 70% of the US search market when you take into consideration it's full network (example AOL is really Google's search engine). Yahoo is a distant second and Bing (MSN) 3rd.
Some argue that they get more "buys" from one engine or the other but that is debatable. It may be that their web pages are simply better ranked in those search engines and they get more traffic from Yahoo or Bing. In my experience it is easier to grab a top spot in these engines than in it in Google for most poorly optimized web sites.

Google hands down. Bigger sample size to split test data. Also, when it comes to generating leads it is all percentages and Google has the highest percent of traffic.
As far as quality of traffic, I put them all at the same level. MSN PCP has been known to generate higher ROIs than Google and Yahoo!. But at this stage of the game I would prefer to spend my time targeting the SE that has over 70% market share.

All the search engines are best, you can search anything & you will get results that will be beneficial for you. But Google is very fast than other search engines, so its popular search engine.
