Google Page Rank? Does it really matter?

Does Google page rank really matter? It does if you are looking for free non paying visitors.

When competing in the real estate markets the giant (realtor dot com) gets
most of the new traffic because of its high page ranking!

No matter how many articles you write,links you get it is very difficult to compete with the big boys.

However, you can be at the top of the search engines for your specific keywords which will bring leads.

Your thoughts?

Yes of course. You can reach high position on SERP if your site have a high PR with many link of one anchor text favorite. So that you'll get traffic from them. High PR without anchor text targeted won't send you traffic.

it matters but only partially now.

a PR of a site means, that in case of similar content, a site with higher pr - page rank that is - is going to be showed before a site with lower pr.

since a pr is a rank for the importance of the site as well as information on that particular page.

My PR for one of my sites went from PR4 down to PR2 in about 6 months. I although did not have any real change in unique visitors to my site.

I'm sure if matters some but I can get great search engine placement on keywords above other sites with higher PR that appear to be placing for the same keywords.

I don't stress over PR anymore.

Well David I don't agree that the all the game is for PR (Page Rank) PR is important but its not enough for any site there are lots of factor that are more import important then PR like the Traffic of your site, on search engine your sites come at the top etc....
