Im sure that Google is going to fix that at some point since they own YouTube. There have already been talks on the tech blogs that I read that indicate some big changes coming to YouTube soon.

For one thing, since google took youtube over you can see those annoying ad sense ads on the videos. What made youtube such a hit when other fail was the speed.

I'm going to put this to the test. I have a few people I'm competing with for a search phrase. The video is the same, so I'm going to compare each of the items you mention. I'll post back here with my results.

I checked the five things you talked about and I realized that tags are critical. When I first tried to tag my video, YouTube wouldn't let me use the phrase I wanted. I couldn't figure out how to make it work, so my video had only one tag that was not close to the phrase I was trying to rank for. After readed this post, I looked at the tags that my competitors used, tried those and now I've jumped ahead of the 3 videos that were beating me (in both YouTube and Google rankings).

With that accomplished, how do I take it to the next level? Will traditional SEO like link building help me make this video more prominent in the Google search? Are pageviews more or less important than links to get a video ranking on the first page?

Thanks for the tips! I wasn't expecting to learn about SEO in at a real estate forum!

It's good to know that we are all learning here. I would like to research more about video optimization before posting anything. I'll inform you guys right away after testing my theories.
