Google Sanbox

The Google Sandbox is a metaphorical term to explain why most new websites have very poor rankings in Google Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS). Very few people know for sure if the 'sandbox' actually exists, but it seems to be a filter added to the Google algorithms sometime around March 2004.

It's hard to tell whether the sandbox is an explicit rule Google has which puts new sites at a disadvantage, or if new sites simply tend to have less link popularity and other signals, which tends to create a sandbox effect. For example, if Apple launches a new website tomorrow and publicizes it, will it really have trouble ranking well?

^Exactly. I agree with you. I even think that "sandbox" was invented by SEO amateurs, who were charging for SEO services, and actually they were "selling fog", and had to make up some reason to calm the customers.

No, i've been sandboxed before, it is a real thing. Try creating a new site and then get a couple hundred links to it in a week... if none of the links are from authority sites then you'll find yourself temporarily banished from Google.

I have to agree with choicepointapp. Google sandbox your website if it found that you are spamming and not giving quality articles/information regarding those keywords/niche. If your website get sandbox then you can kiss google because you'll not be getting natural search traffic from google.

Meaning that it could only be webmaster's fault. Everybody is trying too much, and at the and they blew up everything what they did. So I don't think that Sandbox is some intentional stuff deliberately aimed to handicap new web sites, but simply a part of Goole's algorithm which is preventing from cheating by new web masters.
